It's finally fall!!!! This makes me very happy. I'm not ready for cold snowy winter, but I'm very tired of 100 degree weather. Today because of the cold weather I was able to wear my new sweater that I have been waiting weeks to wear! YES!

Hmmm, what else. Tomorrow night we are going to the Clyde pizza house for some tasty pizza. I really really need to study Greek!! I knew I'd get behind. Any study tips out there? I get to go see David Crowder in less than a week!! I just love him even though he looks like a billy goat. Well, maybe not quite.

Great Fun

Well, tonight was super. I really enjoyed Oplin even though I am the worst dancer EVER! Thanks to all of you boys who let me step on your feet. Tomorrow, I need to read like crazy. Then off to the party at Donald's. I'm planning to make funfeti cupcakes in spongebob square pants cupcake holders. What is it about cupcakes that just fills me with so much joy?

Other things that fill me with joy:
new school supplies
lemonade
gerber daisies
David Crowder
sunsets (sunrises too, but I'm not usually up that early)
naps
old people who are in love
Christmas trees
rain
Beverly Hills 90210

What fills you with joy?

I GOT IT!!!!!!!

I was just laying in bed reading and I heard this noise in the kitchen. I thought to myself, can it be? I walked over there and saw that little field mouse completely stuck to the sticky trap!!!! YEA!, thank you Lord Jesus. I put the trap in the dust pan and ran it out to the dumpster. It squeaked the whole way out there. Yuck! My heart is still beating really really fast. I hope I don't have a heart attack. Thank you to those of you who were praying for me through this ordeal. Ahhh, I can finally rest.

Mouse Tales

(This is a true story that occurred in my apartment in the fall of 2002.)

There once was a mouse who lived in a small apartment on the campus of ACU. He loved his home. Every night after the tenant would fall asleep, the mouse would come out of his hiding place and have a mouse party in the kitchen and living room. Unfortunately for the mouse, the tenant soon discovered the evidence of the mouse parties. The tenant bought sticky mouse traps and laid them around the apartment because the tenant did not like mouse parties. That night, when the mouse came out of this hiding place to attend the nightly party he noticed something different. There was a little pool next to the bottom of the dishwasher. Oh how the mouse loved to swim. So in a dainty fashion the mouse put one foot in the pool. But oh what happened! It was not a swimming pool. The mouse soon realized that his foot was stuck. He looked over to the window and saw the first light of sunrise. He began to panic. He knew the tenant would not let him continue to live in the apartment. He had to find a way to free himself from the sticky pool. So, he finally faced the fact that he would either lose his leg, or lose his life. Sadly, that little mouse had to bite his leg off. But the sacrifice of the leg was worth it, for the mouse was now free to return to his life of mouse parties (although now he had one less leg). The tenant was horrified by the discovery of a single mouse leg. He moved out as soon as his lease was up. Three years later a new tenant moved in. She was a lovely tenant with a plaid couch. She did not like mouse parties however. So, when she saw that mouse limp under the dishwasher she knew what she had to do. She rushed to Wal-Mart and bought four brand new sticky mouse traps. Now the tenant quietly waits to hear the sound of the mouse putting another foot into the sticky swimming pool. She hopes that the mouse will not remember his previous experience with swimming pools.

Mega Crisis

I am in the middle of a big time crisis. Tonight I saw the worst thing I could possibly see in my apartment. A MOUSE!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. What am I going to do. I'm afraid it's going to crawl in my bed and get in my hair. What if it bites me and gives me a disease. I'm freaking out here. I'm going to need a tranquilizer to fall asleep. Prayers are appreciated here.

Helpless

I got the chance to watch Oprah this afternoon. I usually don't watch the show but I happened to see that she would be talking about the Hurricane, so I tuned in. The current conditions of the people living in Louisiana are unbelievable. Dead bodies are everywhere. If a person is about to die, they go ahead and take the body to the make shift morgue so the person can die in peace. What a tragedy when the morgue is the most peaceful place to die. Oprah got to go into the Superdome and there was water, urine, and feces covering the floor. Thankfully, no one is living there any more. As I watched the show I felt so helpless. All I want to do with my life is love God by loving and serving people. I wish so badly that there was something I could do to help these people. I just feel stuck here.

Hurricane Devastation

My mom pointed something out to me about the devastation of hurricane Katrina. We are used to hurricanes that hit Florida and usually destroy fancy resorts and summer beach homes that belong to wealthy people. This hurricane has hit so many places that are completely poverty stricken. All hurricanes are tragic, but the tragedy of this one seems to be so much greater. So many prayers are needed for this place at this time. May God reign in this disaster. May He be glorified somehow through all of this.

Okay, so everyone said I HAD to get a blog if I was in the GST, so here it goes. Be patient with me as I am new at this blog business. A big shout out to Donald, Brian, David, and Katie for a night of big fun. I appreciate the work that went into getting us together. I also appreciated all of the new people I was able to meet and Bradley for telling me that my name is sexy, even though I don't agree with you!! I have had a great first week here. I am so confident that this is exactly where God wants me right now. Praise Him!! Thanks to everyone who has helped to make this week nice. You are truly a blessing. Good night, sleep tight.
